The left-handed hitting Verdugo played for the Los Angeles Dodgers for three seasons, beginning in 2017. He has a career batting average of .272 and is a superior defender.

Alex Verdugo served as the Yankees' left fielder throughout last year’s World Series. He will begin this season at the Triple-A level, just hoping the Braves might eventually have a need to add him to their outfield mix.
