Zimbabwe defeat Ireland by nine wickets in the final ODI match between the sides in Harare to claim a 2-1 series victory.

Curran, whose two brothers play for England, steered Zimbabwe to a winning tally of 246-1 in 39.3 overs, comfortably going past Ireland’s 50-over total of 240-6. The Irish were put into bat with opener Andy Balbirnie top scoring with 61 and featuring in an 86-run partnership with Harry Tector for the third wicket.

Zimbabwe clashed with Ireland in the third ODI at the Harare Sports Club in Harare on February 18. Zimbabwe won the toss and opted to bowl first. Andrew Balbirnie provided a good start for the Irish but he lost partners at regular intervals.

Ireland opener Ross Adair will miss the T20 series against Zimbabwe which starts on Saturday with Tim Tector called up as his replacement.
