Typhoon Wipha has toppled trees and caused major flight disruptions in Hong Kong and at some nearby airports in China as it moved west off the country's southern coast.

As Wipha intensified from a severe tropical storm into a typhoon and edged toward the southern coast of China, emergency responses including the suspension of production and business, class cancellations and flight disruptions have been prompted across multiple regions affected.
