South Carolina women's basketball trailed in the 2nd quarter to Mississippi State, but Chloe Kitts and Tessa Johnson kickstarted a game- changing run.

South Carolina overcame a sluggish start to blow out Mississippi State 95-68. Tessa Johnson scored a career-high 22 points, but the big concern is the status of Ashlyn Watkins, who left the game in the second quarter with a left leg injury.

Mississippi State had an 11-point lead midway through the second quarter before the game shifted. South Carolina outscored the Bulldogs 19-2 in the final five minutes of the period to get the lead and extend it to 42-34 at halftime. The Gamecocks never looked back.
