King Charles joked about the “sands of time” as he presented an hourglass to a local Australian parliament which was celebrating its 200th anniversary. The King was also present at the Legislative Council of New South Wales’ 150th anniversary in 1974.

King Charles and Queen Camilla have made their first public appearance in Australia. The royals briefly met with children outside St Thomas Anglican Church in North Sydney, before attending a church service.

King Charles was granted five-star rank in each branch of Australia's armed forces Saturday, a ceremonial gesture to mark the first full day of his landmark tour Down Under.
