Familiar with disaster, New Orleans-area resident step up to help Florida and North Carolina after Hurricanes Helene and Milton

The survival strategies of the past inhabitants of Florida — the Native American tribes such as the Seminole, Timucua, Calusa and others that lived in Florida for thousands of years — were deeply connected to their understanding of the land and its natural cycles.
