The Rangers will open the 2023-24 season in Pittsburgh with three rookies on their roster. Matt Rempe, Adam Edstrom and Victor Mancini officially made the Blueshirts out of training camp for the first time in all three of their respective careers.

It was a busy offseason of training, interviews and autograph appearances for New York Rangers forward Matt Rempe, a sudden celebrity of sorts around Manhattan, who last season captured the hearts for his penchant for fighting and riling up the opponent.

I wonder whether Rempe would have more value to the Blueshirts down the stretch and in the playoffs if he were to start the season in Hartford.

There is a growing sense that Victor Mancini will be on the New York Rangers’ opening night roster. Mancini has had a strong training camp and took full advantage of his opportunity. He’s really outshined all of the other young defensive prospects who were eying a roster spot and worked his way up the depth chart just based on his overall play.
