Justin Rose had a stellar first round Thursday, firing a 7-under 65 to finish the day atop the leaderboard by three strokes over the next-closest entrants. It was tied for Rose’s lowest score ever in a round at the event.

Justin Rose is still in the lead at the Masters. He suddenly has a lot of all-star company around him. Rose managed a 71 and was one shot ahead of Bryson DeChambeau.

"When the big stage is there, I can kind of bring my game and still compete with the best players in the world," Rose said.
