Goldman Sachs made a splash by announcing what it called a “game-changing” credit card with Apple. Five years later, the partnership appears to have fizzled and Apple is reportedly looking  for a new card partner.

As Apple and Goldman Sachs prepare to part ways, JPMorgan Chase is reportedly in discussions to take over the Apple Card credit card program, according to a report from The Wall Street Journal.

The largest bank in the U.S. may be interested in yet another rescue that would help cement its industry dominance. The Wall Street Journal reported on Tuesday that JPMorgan Chase and Apple were discussing a deal where the bank would take over the tech firm’s credit-card program after a Goldman Sachs partnership soured.

These include questions on whether JPMorgan would retain existing features of the Apple Card, and the price. The move of Apple came after Goldman Sachs veered away from its retail-banking strategy, thereby resulting in limited options left for the iPhone maker.
