Geno Smith has been a bargain for the Seahawks over the years, and his play since replacing Russell Wilson means, as receiver DK Metcalf insists, he's no longer underrated.

Smith struggled with playing through injury in 2023. His numbers slightly regressed as a result, but he still owned a 20:9 TD:INT ratio and went 8-7 as a starter. The Seahawks parted ways with head coach Pete Carroll and offensive coordinator Shane Waldron, replacing them with Mike Macdonald and Ryan Grubb.

The running game went nowhere. So Smith did it all on offense. The defense turned away New England multiple times. Seattle 2-0.
