Hotel room sales spiked during the FIFA Club World Cup match in Uptown last month. According to the Charlotte Business Journal, sales increased by 3.5% during the 10 days. Average attendance during the matches was more than 37,000. This was slightly higher than the other U.S. hosted cities.

With less than a year remaining until the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which will kick off on June 11, 2026, in Mexico City, Mexico, information has been released about the process for fans to secure tickets to matches.

Soccer’s international governing body announced Tuesday that the application period for the first ticket draw for the 2026 World Cup will open Sept. 10.
