Borussia Dortmund and Fluminense played to a 0-0 draw in the Club World Cup in rainy conditions before a crowd of just less than half capacity at MetLife Stadium that heavily favored the Brazilian club.

Borussia Dortmund struggled and were lucky to start their Club World Cup campaign on Tuesday with a goalless draw with Brazilian side Fluminense in New York's MetLife Stadium. Goalkeeper Gregor Kobel can take most of the credit for the first point in the tournament as he made several crucial saves to deny Fluminense a goal.

Fluminense held Borussia Dortmund to a 0-0 draw in their Group F Club World Cup opener in New Jersey on Tuesday, as the Brazilian side were left to rue missed chances at MetLife Stadium. Fluminense were firmly in control against the Bundesliga side in the first half but Dortmund goalkeeper Gregor Kobel produced a handful of superb saves to frustrate the Brazilian team in front of a crowd mostly in their favour.
