Results on Wednesday morning show Republicans flipping three seats: one each in the Iron Range (7B), Winona (26A) and St. Peter (18A) Minnesota.

Control of the Minnesota House is still up in the air as Republicans were able to flip three seats and several other races could head towards a recount.

As things stand on Wednesday morning, the House is currently split 67-67, though two races won by the DFL are subject to recounts that could still swing control to the GOP. It potentially means the end – or at the very least a check – on the DFL trifecta that has led to several major Democratic pieces of legislation over the past two years.

Republican and Democratic lawmakers acknowledged Wednesday that they will now have to put grudges aside and work together under a tied 67-67 Minnesota House. Unofficial election results show that the party breakdown is split between Democrats and Republicans in the Minnesota House,

The DFL currently has just a four-seat majority but has raised and spent far more money than the GOP on campaigns for contested seats.

Two Minnesota House races are headed for a recount and the results will determine which party leads the House for the next two years.
