Manatee County’s Emergency Management Division said it coordinated with the Salvation Army to open cold weather shelter space at their 1204 14th St. West location in Bradenton this week. Doors open at 6 p.m. each night through Thursday. County officials said this space is in addition to the daily sheltering program.

Pinellas County opens its cold night shelters when the “feels like” temperature drops below 40 degrees anytime from Nov. 15 through March 15. Any rider denied a free fare to a cold night shelter should ask the driver to contact PSTA dispatch.

A Cold Weather Advisory is currently in effect through Tuesday. The forecast includes wind chills as low as 16-20 degrees.

In fact, for many over Denver and eastern Colorado the coldest lows in nearly a year are on the way. The forecast low for Denver should drop close to 7 degrees.

Snow showers have wrapped up ahead of cold air moving into Denver’s weather forecast. Clouds will continue to clear out Tuesday night. This will aid in a rapid drop in temperatures down to the single digits.
