BRIDGEPORT, Conn. — A family is mourning the loss of their loved one after a shooting involving Bridgeport Police. Tatiana Barrett identified her uncle, Dyshan Best, as the person who was shot and killed by police on Kossuth Street on Monday. Police have not yet identified the people and police officers involved.

Dyshan Best loved to volunteer in the community, his family and friends said Thursday. The 38-year-old Bridgeport resident painted basketball courts and faces at city events, and always lent a hand with turkey drives for Thanksgiving meals and Halloween trunk or treat events,

Authorities are investigating a police shooting that happened in Bridgeport Monday night. Police said it happened in the area of Kossuth and Beecher streets around 6 p.m. It’s unclear whether an officer was the person shot.
