According to MLB insider Jon Heyman, the Chicago Cubs have inquired with the Arizona Diamondbacks about third baseman Eugenio Suarez.

The MLB trade deadline is just over a week away, and with teams around the league eyeing one last chance to significantly bolster their rosters before a playoff push, several names have emerged in trade rumors.

Starting pitcher Marcus Stroman, who has faced Suárez 17 times, called him an “an incredible hitter.” Reliever Luke Weaver, a former teammate of Suárez’s, has battled him 12 times and said “his swing is designed for just a beautiful, majestic pull homer.”
