No you do not need to book with any tour group. It is open to the general public. You receive audio headsets so tour at your own pace, self guided. Can’t remember if we paid extra for the headsets. It is in the centre of the old town. Restaurants with outdoor patios cafes right across the street for coffee or meal as well.
